Richard III (1955)

 Laurence Olivier's "Richard III"

British icon of the stage and screen, Laurence Olivier, only had five film directing credits to his name. The third three were adaptations of William Shakespeare, including "Henry V" and "Hamlet." The third Shakespeare adaptation, was "Richard III," released in glorious Technicolor in 1955. Completed what some would call a Shakespeare trilogy, Olivier cemented himself as a true director of film, further enhancing his already impressive resume on the stage and screen.
